PACKING UP – My home is in the boxes which surround me and it's all a bit sad really. It's coming fast now, my final week in Brunei, for 2000 at least. Will I come back? Many
have asked this question. Why not? I have had a great time in Brunei and would welcome the chance to explore the country further and catch up with friends after the race! We shall see.
CLASS RACING – This Sunday's sailing at RBYC was uneventful at the time when I would have welcomed a good blast around Serasa Bay in an ISO for the last time in 2000
LOOKING
AHEAD – Once I am back in UK I am going to be available full-time to help prepare our yacht for sea, to learn more about making her go fast (and in the right direction!) and to spend more time keeping myself fit. These
last few weeks have been so hectic that making time to keep fit has been hard and I have not always succeeded. If I tell you that I will be here for another 10 days (of which 7 are working days), that I have three talks
about the race to give in that time, that my freight has to be collected, the house has to be thoroughly cleaned and that I'll be out almost every evening, you will get some of the picture.
LONDON WEEK - If anyone is going to be in London the week of 14-19
May, you will see the whole fleet of 12 Challenge yachts in St Katherine's Dock. The yachts will sail under a raised Tower Bridge and back again. It should be quite a photo-opportunity! |
